Tremont is a historic yet trendy neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio that should not be missed on a visit to this city. Its streets are filled with beautiful old homes, with all the colors and details on them for which any Rehab Addict lover would go nuts. You can also find a lot of very cool shops and restaurants built into old store fronts from decades past. This neighborhood is filled with character, but most importantly, it is filled with excellent food and adult beverages!
Why Visit Tremont?
As mentioned above, Tremont, Ohio is packed to the brim with interesting places to visit. However, even my husband and I, native Clevelanders that we are, don’t make it to this historic neighborhood too often. Tremont is a bit tucked away, and takes a tiny bit of extra effort to get too.
Anyone visiting the city of Cleveland should take some time to explore this fun little area. It’s an easy trip, being no more than 10 minutes outside of the city. Tremont also boasts some of Cleveland’s very best eateries, such as Dante and Parallax, not to mention some unique shops and sights. It really is an area where the best of the city’s past and present come together.

An Afternoon Exploring Tremont, Ohio
Try some local craft beer
We have been slowly working our way to Cleveland’s 30+ breweries, which was our main motivation to come to Tremont on a winter afternoon. The sole brewery in this area is currently Forest City Brewery.
Once there, it’s a little bit tricky to find the taproom. There is a very discrete side entrance leading to a hallway with a few turns before you finally come upon the spacious bar area. The space is in a rustic old building with brick walls and a wooden timber roof, and features 8 beers on draft. It’s actually one of the coolest taprooms I’ve seen in Cleveland, and has a nice amount of seating. The are added touches of vintage photos and furniture, along with retro board games, including the likes of Trivial Pursuit: Millennium.
My hubby and I split a paddle of 4 samples. They were decent beers, but we enjoyed the space a bit more than we enjoyed the beer. It would be a great place to bring a group of friends for an evening, for sure.

Visit the A Christmas Story House
If you go to Tremont, Ohio, you have to visit the A Christmas Story House. Yes, this is where that movie that gets played for 24 straight hours every Christmas was filmed. Your welcome.
It does cost $13 per adult for admission, but it covers both the house and neighboring museum. When we went on Saturday around 4pm, there was a line going down the street, and it was not moving. I recommend going earlier in the day.
Take a Picture by the Cleveland Sign
These white script Cleveland signs have popped up all over the city in the past few years, and they have become very popular photo spots for both locals and visitors alike. Somehow we had never gotten a photo with the sign despite seeing them several times. Now we can finally say we have! In my opinion, the sign in Tremont, Ohio has the best view, so take advantage while you’re there.

Have an Amazing Dinner with a View
There are a ton of fantastic restaurants in Tremont, both affordable and high-end. For your first visit to the area, why not enjoy dinner with a view? I recommend Fat Cats, as it has a great unique view of downtown, and a range of delicious options to choose from. I highly recommend the Pork Belly Salad – an Asian inspired dish with some of the best pork belly you’ll ever eat!
There you have it – the perfect way to spend an afternoon on a visit to Tremont Ohio.
